Why a Doula?

VBACs and Doulas

For a woman seeking a vaginal birth after a cesarean (VBAC), the upcoming labor and birth can be a source of both excitement and anxiety. However she views her prior cesarean(s), the experience does shape the way the woman views her upcoming birth. Our experience includes working with many VBAC moms, as well as personal experience with both  cesarean and  VBAC.  We can empathize with the special emotions and concerns of a "VBAC Mama." We have an extensive library of information and resources on topics specific to VBAC, a network of women with VBAC experience, and more importantly, we have both experience and a sensitive intuition. If you are a VBAC client, we look forward to working with you in your special journey.

"Giving birth was an incredible experience for me, and having Kristy as my doula was a big part of that. I was so glad she was there during my labor, but what surprised me most was how much she helped me to prepare myself for the birth mentally and emotionally. I don’t think anything can completely prepare you for labor and childbirth, but when the time came, I think I was as ready as possible, and that really helped me get through it successfully." -- E.H.
